Good Father {Gratitude52 Art Journal}

G52 Prompt 24

Prompt #24, “Thankful for fathers,” came in just before Father’s Day. I am thankful for my earthly father, who went to be with the Lord in 1988. But when this prompt came, it was one of those times when a particular song was in my head—like constantly. So I had no choice but to use the lyrics of that song, for my “thankful for father” prompt…because I am truly thankful for my Heavenly Father. He’s a good Father, and He loves me.

“Good, Good Father” by Chris Tomlin

Oh, I've heard a thousand stories of what they think you're like
But I've heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you're pleased
And that I'm never alone
You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am

Oh, and I've seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we're all searching
For answers only you provide
Cause you know just what we need
Before we say a word
You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am

Cause you are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us
Oh, it's love so undeniable
I, I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable
I, I can hardly think

You're a Good, Good Father
It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am

The words of this song mean so much to so many people. What a great opportunity to post them. I love how you chose to symbolize it all with a heart on the cross. God laid out His love for us when allowed His son's heart so stop beating on that cross for our sins. What more could He do to show us He loves us? He truly is a good Father.
